Hackney Wick, a district in East London, UK, nestled in the London Borough of Hackney and Tower Hamlets, has a rich industrial past. Originating as a small settlement on the River Lea, it flourished during the 19th century due to its proximity to the waterways and railways, making it an ideal hub for industry. Notably, it was renowned for its production of chemicals, dyes, and later, plastics, attracting a diverse workforce.
